It is always a great time when a new school opens up. Some people will dislike it and others will love it, but we should all be happy that our lifestyle is growing. A wise man once told me that it doesn’t matter what banner you fly because at the end of the day we all fly the same banner and that banner is the one of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. The person who told me that was none other than Rubens Charles Maciel, or better known as Cobrinha.
That being said, there is nothing better than a brand new facility. The cleanness, the fresh paint, and mat all provide a great training atmosphere.This past weekend, I was able to make the trip and visit a few very close friends of mine and was able to see their brand new school open up for the first time. Powerhouse team Paragon Jiu-Jitsu has arrived in Austin, Texas! The brand new facility is headed up by BJJ black belt Darrin Lillian and BJJ brown belt Roberto Dembeck. The two have been close friends and training partners of mine through my jiu-jitsu journey and they invited us in to be the first to tour their new facility and share it with everyone!
